My sincre apologies to my limited readers for disappearing off the face of the virtual Earth. So far my juniour year of high school has been extremely busy with academics, athletics, and boy drama. Thanks to my AP English class I have found I have a slightly disturbing fascination for dystopian literature (I really quite enjoyed Lord of the Flies and 1984 and recommend you read them).
As for boy drama, its really just one boy in particular who has managed to confuse the hell out of me. We find it so easy to talk to one another and we have these hour long conversations, we got to be pretty close friends at the end of last year and a bit over summer, but these year he had to switch schools because our school volleyball team got cancelled and he is hcore into vball. Well anyway, i hadnt really heard from him for a couple of weeks but then the other day he changes his status to "i miss her" and then starts chating to me for about an hour. I just cant figure him out, or what it is I should do. I like him, but ive just never had the guts to tell any guy that. Any advice? Im not above bribery or begging.
GASP! Outfit pictures??! because this is kinda sorta what the blog is for; sometimes.

The Back To School Trilogy: Part II
Essential Items: Here is my essential list of items for this back to school year! What are some of your essential items? Do tell me, im curious.
1. Cardigans
2. Scarves
3. Striped Skinnies
4. Corduroy Skinnies
5. Messenger Bag
6. Bangles
7. Patterned Trench
8. Flats and Ankle Boots
My Challenge To You: Improve your health this school year! I know, I know easier said than done right? well thats what I used to believe but once you find something you love to do (whether its running, playing a sport, or just taking your dog for a walk) and make a habit of doing it at least 30 minutes a day, it becomes so easy! one easy change, instead of driving to school how about riding a bike or walking? Its like killing two birds with one stone; getting your exercise and helping the earth.
The one part about of this whole health kick that I personally am having difficulty with is the eating part. I am the type of girl who when reaching for a snack will more often than not go for the chocolate cream pie rather than an apple, but hopefully with enough determination I can change this just like I did with my exercise routine!

P.S. if you have not yet herd "Electric Feel" by MGMT go listen to it! It is amazing, its currently on repeat on my ipod.

The Back To School Trilogy: Part I
It seems as though it was just hours ago that myself, and millions of other teens, where released from school for our much needed (and deserved!) two month reprieve. Though I am not even half way through my summer vacation I have already found myself thinking of outfits for the first week of school, goals for myself, and ingenious devices that will in no way help raise my calculus mark but are just to cute to ignore.
In honor of upcoming school year I have devised a plan. A plan that is unlike any of my schemes to date. A three posts series on everything you will need for the 2008/2009 school year.
I now commence Part 1 of The Back To School Trilogy.
hot trend: oxford chic
Oxford is not only the birthplace of prep style but also the home of Oxford University, which is ranked third in the world (after Harvard and Cambridge, respectively). Its no doubt that you will look intelligent and cute when waring an oxford chic outfit. The key items to wearing this style are blazers and oxford shoes, be creative with your accessories to make it your own!
Thing-a-ma-jigs!

organise and hold yourself together this school year with graphic tape and unique day planner. (both from Fred flare)
Book you should read: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Brave New World is a novel that takes place in the future where the ideal society has been created. All the members of society are happy thanks to genetic engineering, sex, and drugs. The story follows Bernard Marx who seems to be the only one not content with this perfect world and he decides to visit a savage reservation, in the hopes of finding a cure for his distress. This is one of the only books I have ever read that shocked me or made me ponder our society this much. Trust me, its 229 pages well worth reading.
What are you guys looking forward to about back to school?

Style Maven Of The Month: Rachel Bilson
Rachel Bilson, a name synonomous for gorgeous brown locks and a funky bohemian style. If you were to ask me for a list of my style icons Rachel Bilson would definately be near the top. I love how she can incorparate new and vintage pieces in an outfit. I also love how her outfits are looks that one could easily achieve at home on a small budget! Not to mention she wears scarves in several of her outfits which I am known to be slightly obbssesed with.

Steal her look:

bag: $58 urban outfitters, Jeans: $29.50 American Eagle, Scarf: $19.50 Gap, Trench £55.00 TopShop
so do tell, who is your style icon?
